Process steps (Our Process) weave/process

Our Process

Every project follows the same clear journey. This framework keeps things moving without surprises, while giving you confidence at every stage. You’ll always know what’s next, and you’ll never feel left in the dark.

1. Discover & Define

We start by listening. Together we unpack your goals, audience, and challenges, then shape a clear strategy that guides the project.

2. Design & Create

Our team transforms ideas into visuals — from brand identities to wireframes and web design. Always user-focused, always aligned to your purpose.

3. Build & Test

This is where ideas become reality. We code with care, building in WordPress to ensure everything is robust, scalable, and accessible. Then we rigorously test, so your site works beautifully across devices and browsers.

4. Launch & Support

We go live smoothly and confidently, wth training and support to make sure your team feels empowered. After launch, we stay connected with ongoing support, optimisation, and advice — because a website is never “done,” it’s always growing.

No two projects are identical, but this process ensures we deliver consistently while tailoring the details to your organisation’s needs.

Our web design process

  • Sitemapping & content organisation - Together we map your content and audiences, then structure the site so everything is easy to find and navigate.
  • Mood boards & concepting - Setting the tone for your brand so we start in the right direction with look and feel.

  • Visual design - Typography, colour palettes, and imagery that reflect your brand identity and connect with your audience.
  • Responsive & accessible - Every design is mobile-first, inclusive, and compliant with accessibility best practices.
  • Conversion-focused - Layouts are designed to guide users toward clear actions - enquiries, bookings, donations, downloads.

Beyond looks: design that performs

About: our team (intro, bios, two partners, Manu) weave/team

Our Team

We like working with nice people - simple as that!

Our passion for what we do shines through in our projects, and we’re excited to partner with you to create meaningful, impactful work that leaves a positive mark on our communities.

We’re a tight-knit team of creatives, strategists, and digital problem-solvers who love what we do (and do it well). We ditch the jargon, keep things clear, and work as an extension of your team - making big projects feel easy.

You’ll work directly with us. At Weave, you’re working with the partners who own the business - not layers of account managers. That means direct access to the people actually designing, building, and guiding your project. We bring both the experience and the personal investment to make sure your project succeeds.

With a blend of big-agency experience and a personal touch, we create brands and websites that not only look great but work beautifully. If you’re after a team that’s as invested in your success as you are, let’s chat.

Transforming technical complexity into business clarity is what Gareth does best.

Gareth has been building for the web since the mid-90s – from the early hand-coded days to leading large ISPs and telcos, and now Weave Digital Studio with his wife, Liz.

At Weave, he helps professional services, science, and agritech organisations turn complex, data-heavy information into clear, compelling digital solutions that engage the right audiences and support informed decision-making.

An advocate for open source, online-privacy, and high-performance hosting, Gareth also manages a custom WordPress hosting stack powering 100's of sites across New Zealand and Australia.

Gareth is fueled by single origin coffee, vinyl records, calisthenics for fitness, and a steady supply of bad dad jokes - plus the occasional game of netball to keep him honest.

Our work

A few examples from the hundreds of projects where we’ve helped organisations create positive change

  • Pellow & Hill Funerals

    Pellow & Hill Funerals

Two respected Hamilton funeral homes became one brand with a new purpose-built facility. The website introduced the name, united the two locations, and brought transparent pricing and a casket catalogue to families for the first time.

  • New Zealand Embalmers Association

    New Zealand Embalmers Association

The national body for embalming professionals needed a website that reflected their professionalism and served members: a private area, a searchable directory, training and events, all easy to run in-house.

  • Elliotts Funerals, visibility

    Elliotts Funerals, visibility

A three-location funeral home we built scored 61 out of 100 on our visibility audit. One afternoon and one structured-data block later it scored 79, and the fix is rolling out across every funeral home we look after.
